I think it is annoying as hell. At first I was flattered. Wow. Someone had mentioned me in an article! Whoever it was thought I had something worthwile to say and wanted others to read my piece(s). After combing through some 500 or more annoyingly bright green names at the end of the piece, I stopped paying attention to these "you were mentioned" notices, which used to be when I was actually "mentioned" for some reason, good or bad. I do not know what a listicle is, but that is what I would call these. If the writer is responsible (to get more eyeballs on the page and hence more $$$) I will block them. I hope everyone reads your article and desists with this practice or they will lose readers and $$$. If it's something Medium has cooked up for some nefarious reason under its new leadership would someone please let me know?
