Odd that a Brit would want an American writer since they would have to change the spelling of a lot of words, adding U's here and there and everywhere, and using other words not used here. What a user that guy is! Sorry you were so badly burned.

As for Upwork. I have met and retained one or two good clients over the years whom I still work for (outside of Upwork) but I don't have good feelings about Upwork generally. Many people there want something for nothing and their budget tends to be $50 for work i would normally charge $500 for, and then Upwork takes its generous cut.

I was with them all the way back to when they were called eLance (2008?) But now I do not even bother to respond to "invitations" since all I do is give free advice, then never hear back. Seller Beware!

Other way around, Anna. I’m British, they were LA based. I’ve been writing for US sites for years. On Medium, I like to mix it up :D
