Why do so many who apparently hate Medium and intend to quit writing here and cancel their subscription feel the need to post a grousing piece about Medium and announce their departure? There is one of these almost every day. Medium is what it is. Get what you can from it and give what you want.

I sincerely hope you find a more rewarding place to publish your work. I have not found any that is so responsive and easy and has so many great writers that I could spend all day every day reading them and never get anything else done. To those on their way out in a snit, I say: “Goodbye, good luck, and don’t let the door hit you on the way out.” If you think you will make a lot of money somewhere else for writing short pieces about your personal experiences, well, you must be smoking something, as we used to say.
